Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Yverdon-les-Bains, Taberna Portuguesa Yverdon offers an authentic slice of Portugal right on the Quai de Nogent. This charming Portuguese restaurant invites guests to embark on a culinary journey filled with hearty, soulful flavors that pay homage to traditional Portuguese cooking.

The menu is a celebration of beloved Portuguese classics, expertly prepared to delight every palate. Diners frequently commend the bacalhau dishes—salted cod cooked to perfection, rich in taste and texture. The bitoque, a satisfying plate of tender beef topped with a fried egg, served alongside house-made fries and fluffy rice, consistently earns rave reviews for its generous portions and comforting flavors. The desserts are equally tempting, with luscious chocolate mousse and zesty lemon mousse that provide a perfect sweet finish to any meal.

Customers repeatedly highlight the genuine hospitality that transports them to Portugal itself. From family lunches where sharing multiple dishes becomes a joyful occasion, to relaxed evenings enjoying lovingly prepared plates, there is a palpable sense of community and warmth that fills the spacious venue.

Though some guests note that service can be a bit slow at times, it is clear that this stems from the kitchen’s dedication to preparing each dish fresh and with care—an element that ultimately ensures a quality, flavorful experience worth waiting for. The attentive smiles and sincere engagement of the team create a welcoming vibe that invites diners to linger, savor, and return.
